I just want you to know that Piper has a wonderful home and is loved tremendously. Everyone that meets her falls in love! She has the
sweetest personality and is very smart! My basset "Piper" (at 4 months) is already 40 lbs. The vet said she is going to read 75-80 when full grown. She is going to be a big girl! Once again, I couldn't be more happier with Piper who is now a permanent member of our family! She is the cutest dog ever and I love showing her off. She is very photogenic. My fiance and I would be greatful if you would post a picture of Piper on your "past Puppies" page. We are very proud parents. I have the cutest picture of Piper with my fiance and I and I will send it to you when I get my camera back from my Mom this weekend. Piper is just a little doll and is learning new activites every day. She is definitely a spoiled pup. My fiance's parents sent us a huge box from petco filled with chew toys and treats. She even has stairs set up in front of the couch, so she can climb up and sit with the family. We love her to death! I have one question...How much do Pipers parents weigh? We are being told Piper is going to be an enormous dog. There will be even more of her to love. Well, I am so glad I was able to get in contact with you. I will keep you updated on her growth into adulthood. Be looking for the most adorable pictures of her this weekend. Thanks!!! (Maybelle/Fudd 2008)

Cami, we all (including Cookie, our pom) absolutely LOVE Junior! He and Cookie have their little "who's the top puppy" spells once in
awhile (sometimes it's Cookie, and sometimes, it's Junior), but really, most of the time when they play, they're both laying down. Today when we brought Junior back home from the vet, Cookie greeted him with ears down and with puppy kisses! Junior returned in kind. The other night, after I came home from a rough time with Mom, Junior crawled right into my lap and just by being his little sweet, puppy self, he was a big comfort to me. I'll be signing him up for puppy obedience classes pretty soon at the same place we took Cookie - Chance is looking forward to that, too. I hope to have some time this weekend to send you some pictures of him.
Thanks again for everything! (Ana Belle/Fudd 2008)

Ferris is almost two years old now, and I just wanted to tell you what a great dog he is! His coloring is superb, and people stop me on the
street all the time to tell me what a handsome dog he is. Most importantly, he has a wonderful disposition. We had a baby six months ago, and Ferris is terrific with our new son. He is very even mannered and has never once growled, snapped or acted jealous in any way toward our baby or any other child. Thank you so much for breeding such good looking and good behaving dogs. When people ask me where I got such an handsome and smart basset hound, I tell them about you! (I forget who Ferris' parents are, but he was named Eeyore, and he was
born in June of 2006). (Maybelle/Fudd 2006)

UPDATE: Carley

Just wanted to drop you a note to say all is going well. Maggie visited the Vets yesterday and she has gained over a pound from the last time she was weighted. Everyone was in love with her. Her and Mollie are establishing their relationship and not doing to bad. And of course she is the hit in the neighborhood in just the two days she has been here. I will keep you updated. (Maybelle/Fudd 2008)
Update: Maggie Mae
I thought you would like to hear how our girl is doing. She was just to the vets today for another one of her puppy shots. She weights in at 23.4 lbs. Dr. Tom thinks she is going to be a big girl! She is the hit where ever we take her. She is so beautiful and her coloring as gorgeous! She is coming along with all her training better then expected!! But she is still all puppy...she loves to shred any paper on the floor as well as grabbing my yarn balls! I'm sending along some pictures that I took yesterday. Hope you enjoy them.

Oh how we are enjoying little Carley J She is perfect in every way! She just loves Lucy and Lucy loves her too! It is great to see them playing and getting along J Lucy was so excited to meet Carley and licked her from head to toe for 2 days! Now she just keeps a close eye on her all day long. It is clear that Carley is her baby and she is very happy to have her J Now Carley keeps looking for a nipple which she is not going to find but she has fun trying. I wanted to write to you because we had our first vet visit today and they say that you did everything right and that Carley had a little round worm but other than that she was in perfect health! Everyone just loves a puppy J and Carley is the prettiest puppy ever! I can not thank you enough for such a wonderful and beautiful little girl! I have attached some pictures of her going out back and sitting in the kitchen. She was not real sure about all the snow (even though we shoveled for her) but she is more than happy to go out in it now. Good thing since they are calling for up to 14inches tonight! I think you might have already had what we are about to have. I can not wait for spring! So thank you again and I will keep in touch from time to time. Oh and Fudd and Maybelle’s puppies look beautiful and healthy! Good luck with them! I can not believe 5 females and 1 male! How wonderful! (Puddin/Puck 2007)
Me and Carley were just surfing the web and checking out what was new at mcbhounds which is Carley’s favorite website J She is such a wonderful puppy! We are enjoying every minute of her company J I see you have a couple of girls left from the last litter and they are beautiful! Can’t wait to see what Jake produces!

Attached are a few photos of Earl. She is doing wonderful!! As you can see, she is already spoiled. She loves her pillow and she also loves to cuddle with us and take a nap. She went to the vet yesterday and she’s a very healthy puppy. Our two cats are slowly starting to come around to her. Of course, the first day they wanted nothing to do with her. But they are checking each other out from a distance now, which is good. I figure another week or two and they’ll be chasing each other around the house. Earl has such a fun personality; she’s energetic and loves to play. It’s so fun to have another “little one” in the house again. I don’t know if my husband told you, but he’s wanted a basset hound named Earl for 7 years now, ever since we’ve been together. When we saw her picture on the internet, we knew she was the one for us. Even though she’s a girl, it didn’t seem right to name her anything else. We talked about “Earl” when we bought our house three years ago thinking…”When we get Earl, we have a big yard for her to play in..etc., etc.,”. Actually, I think its better that we got a girl puppy, because it is so cute seeing this little girl tag along with Greg like his shadow. They are best buds already. Hope your new litter is doing well. (Puddin/Puck 2007)

Just a quick update on Rita!!! She went to the vet yesterday, and she now weighs 12 lbs, and our vet gave her a thorough check-up...she's a very healthy girl! He even called us an hour after we arrived back home to comment what a nice puppy she was! We have her new dose of de-wormer ready to give her today. Crate training and housetraining has been a huge success so far, and she's had some play time with Melvin (our golden retriever), and it went well. Basically a lot of sniffing, but no chasing or rough play. Rita will take a nap in her crate now with the door open, or just go in there to chew on her Kong toy. She has very few accidents in her area in the kitchen, and is eating a bit more than over the weekend. Stu just loves her!!! When I came home from school yesterday, and she was napping in bed with him, and Puppy. She slept in her crate in the kitchen for the first time last night with no fuss! She is a very playful and active puppy...she loves a variety of toys, and gets the "zoomies" around the kitchen and outside several times a day. It's really hilarious to see her zip around like that! She's settling in so well! (Maybelle/Fudd 2007)

Hello Cami, I hope you are doing well. Bruno is doing great, we just took him to the Vet again this past Tuesday for some shots. He is now 22 pounds and still adorable. He has become very popular in our neighborhood. He is loving all the attention he gets. He is very smart, but also very stubborn. Bruno has made a wonderful addition to our family, thanks again. (Maybelle/Fudd 2006)

Precious Coco enjoyed here first camp out away from home. Everyone at the airport thought she was so beautiful. She got the royal treatment. Our dog Biscuit really took a liking to Precious Coco. I think they are going to be wonderful playmates for each other. Cami you have such a wonderful family and we thank you for taking care of us. It's getting late so we will say good night and love to everyone on the farm. (Maybelle/Fudd 2006)

Booger is simply beautiful, everyone comments on how gorgous he is. He loves his playmate (Ruby, the bloodhound). They are still very different in size, so Booger has to stay in a pen outside until we get home to supervise. Ruby could hurt him accidentally. I will send you a photo maybe tomorrow with the two hounds. (Ana Belle/Fudd 2006)

Cami, Just want to drop you a few lines to let you know how the puppy we purchased from you is doing. He's great, his first vet visit was January 18,06 and it went very well. He goes back on 2-15-06. Bill and I named him Rupert of Onslow. I received the Akc registration application you sent earlier this week. Thank you. Rupert has adjusted well, one of my cats was bulling him for the 1st week he was here, but he has come around and doesn't mind the puppy now except when Rupert uses him for a chew toy. Thank you again for this wonderful boy. (Rosie/Puck 2005)

Just wanted to tell you Charley is doing great. He went to the vet Monday, and he weights 19 pounds! They thought he was so cute they are putting his picture in their brochure. HAHA! I'm trying not to let it go to his head. Well all for now. Take care. (Rosie/Puck 2005)

Hi Cami, Betsy is doing really well. She's a little celebrity on our block. We meet people ALL the time, who tell us that they've heard about Betsy from their friends. It's very funny! I've never lived in a place where I've met so many of my neighbors. Betsy's just a people magnet, plus, she's a HUGE ham. It takes us half an hour to walk around the block because she sees someone coming down the sidewalk and she lays flat on her tummy, wrinkles her head and just looks up at them with sad basset eyes until she gets some attention. She's got about a 50% success rate of getting stranger to stop and pet her... I really don't know how the others resist! She is SO big now. We weighed her the other day and she was 16 pounds. She knows how to sit, come, stay (sort of) and lay down (which she knows a little too well!). We've attached some of our more recent photos of her. I'll try to send more as we upload them. We literally have 80 photos on our camera right now and most of them are of Betsy. (Rosie/Puck 2005)

Just a quick note to let you know how our little girl is doing. We changed her name to Molly, hope you don't mind. She is doing great. Her and our other dog Sadie get along just fine. Lots of playing around never a dull moment with these two. She is spoiled rotten, and is very well LOVED. Thanks for such a sweet girl. (Rosie/Puck 2005)

We will be fencing in the yard so she will be able to run without being on a flexi leash. she loves the snow. she gets along well with her sister Autumn Rayne, Everyone says she is a beautiful dog, she melts everyones hearts. She loves to ride and thinks she should be in the drivers seat. I will be sending you a few pictures of Sienna. Hello Cami, I was looking at Beulah Mae this morning and was think, my has she gotten big. So I thought I should give you an update of our "little" girl. She is growing fast and is well over 30 pounds. She has finish her puppy kindergarten classes and last week was her last puppy socialization class. She could have had another month, but she is really to big for the little puppies. But she will be starting her first obedience class on October 7th. She is a very fast learner, and the trainer was amazed at her focus in the sit and stay position. Mona, the trainer, has been helping us with finding courses for therapy work. She feels that Beulah Mae has the potential of becoming a good therapy work dog. Mona use to train therapy dogs, but now has small kids and does not have the time to work with people to get the certification. Beulah still has a long way to go, but the potential is there. A little news about Beulah Mae. she has a great personality and loves people, other dogs and cats. And even with a visitor to the house leaves, she cries as if her best friend in her life has gone away. She is learning the routines of the house and is always with people if she can be. She is becoming the dog people want to have. I am enclosing a few recent photos, I will have Boyd send her graduation pictures from puppy kindergarten. The photos I am sending today have been on his blog so you may have seen them already. We have a new kitten, Cletus, and he has become Beulahs new best friend.
UPDATE: Beulah Mae
It has been a while since we have updated you on Beulah Mae's progress. She is doing well. We have discovered that she loves snow. With the recent snowstorms. We have about 30 inches on the ground, so we have had to make trails in the yard for her with shovels and snowblowers. From inside the house looking outside, you only can she her when she hops up on her back legs to look over the edge of the trails. She also loves to make trails her own trails in the snow too. But she does not wander to far from the made trails. She wants to be outside all the time. Although she does not like to go out when it is below zero. Her nose has come into focus and when she is outside she is constantly smelling the ground and following the trails of the squirrels and rabbits in the backyard. A couple a weeks ago Beulah and I were at the pet store to buy food and some members of the local Bassett Hound club were there. They thought her breeding, conformation and temperment were very good, and that she was a very beautiful dog. She gets the beautiful comment a lot from people who see her out and about. It is amazing how many people come up and talk to you about their past experiences with Bassetts. Beulah is about 50 pounds, happy and healthy. She is centered on people and will seek out anyone who happens to walk by. (Matilda/Puck 2006)

Just a quick update on "Gomer" (we renamed him to "Moose" as soon as we picked him up). He's about 17 weeks old now, and already weighs over 25 lbs (no fat). His feet and legs are already almost as broad as our 6 yr old male Basset (George)... His growth rate does seem to be slowing some now, but we still suspect that he will be a pretty big boy. Can you tell us how heavy/large his parents are?
Moose is healthy and very active, and is a really good match for George who immediately snapped out of his depression the day we came home with a puppy - so we are very glad about that! (Maybelle/Fudd 2007)
